On Friday 3rd November there was a ‘Race Night’ to raise money for the charity ‘Kids Need Both Parents’ at Sheldon Willclare Sports and Social Club. This is now becoming an annual event and lots of families attend to watch the fireworks first and then attend the ‘Race Night’. A raffle was held with the prize being a Mascot Experience and a VIP day out for a family of 4 for the match on 13th January 2018 against Derby County. Mel Sheppard won and she gave the prize her son Luke who was also accompanied by his Dad Gary, and his brother Matthew. The family enjoyed their VIP day out which included a tour of the ground and a buffet-style meal in the box. They were glad to be sat inside to watch the match as it was very cold that day! Luke really enjoyed being a Mascot, getting to go on the pitch for some skills before the game and walking the team out. Luke said that it was “the best day ever”, however, he may have changed his mind after the result with Blues losing 3-0 to Derby!
